Cássio Albuquerque dos Anjos (born 12 August 1980), known simply as Cássio, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays for Saudi club Al-Taawoun FC as a goalkeeper.
Club career
During most of his career in his homeland, Rio de Janeiro-born Cássio played mostly for modest clubs. He did however represent Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama over four Série A seasons, playing 35 games in 2006 to help his team to the sixth position.
In 2008, Cássio moved to Portugal and joined F.C. Paços de Ferreira, being first-choice for most of his spell with the Primeira Liga side. He was also the starter during the 2010–11 edition of the domestic League Cup, where his team lost in the final against S.L. Benfica.[1]
Cássio did not miss one single minute of action in the 2012–13, as Paços finished a best-ever third and qualified to the UEFA Champions League for the first time in its history. He only conceded 29 goals during the campaign, notably keeping a clean sheet in a 1–0 home win over Sporting CP.[2]
