Paul Warren Rieger QSO JP[1] was Mayor of Palmerston North from 1985 to 1998.[2][3] He is now deputy chairman of Horizons Regional Council.[4]

In the 1992 New Year Honours, Rieger was made a Companion of the Queen's Service Order for public services.[5]
