The Wales women's national field hockey team represents Wales in international women's field hockey, with the exception of the Olympic Games when Welsh players are eligible to play for the Great Britain national women's field hockey team as selected. The country's main targets as laid down by Hockey Wales, Wales national governing body for hockey, are the EuroHockey Championships, the FIH World League and the Commonwealth Games.[2]

Notable former players

  • Ann Davies was a leading left wing actress and translator. Toured with the team in 1936.
  • Anne Ellis - Former GB player and captain, Wales' most capped player until she was overtaken in the EuroHockey Championship II in 2017
  • Sarah Thomas - Olympic bronze medal winner with the 2014 Great Britain team
  • Abi Welsford - Former Welsh Captain and former joint most capped players with Leah Wilkinson (who overtook her in the 2018 Commonwealth Games)
