The 1974 Sacramento State Hornets football team represented Sacramento State University[note 1] during the 1974 NCAA Division II football season.

Sacramento State competed in the Far Western Conference (FWC).[note 2] The Hornets were led by head coach Ray Clemons in his fourteenth season. They played home games at Hornet Stadium in Sacramento, California. The team finished the season with a record of two wins and nine losses (2–9, 2–3 FWC). Overall, the team was outscored by its opponents 116–240 for the season.
