According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 35.9 square miles (93.0 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

At the 2000 census there were 249 people in 97 households, including 64 families, in the town. The population density was 6.9 people per square mile (2.7/km²). There were 161 housing units at an average density of 4.5 per square mile (1.7/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 100.00% White. Of the 97 households 29.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.8% were married couples living together, 3.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.0% were non-families. 27.8% of households were one person and 11.3% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.57 and the average family size was 3.23.
