The Spokane County Sheriff's Office is the primary law enforcement agency for Spokane County, Washington.[1] It is headquartered in Spokane, Washington.
The current Sheriff is Ozzie D. Knezovich.[2] Knezovich was appointed as the Sheriff of Spokane County on April, 11th 2006.[3] This year, 2020, marks Knezovich's 28th year working in law enforcement.[3]
Divisions
Divisions Investigation Division
The Investigation Division is instructed by a Captain whose essential obligation is to give general administration course and control for the Investigation Division. The Investigation Division comprises the Crimes Against Person Unit, Crimes Against Property Unit, the Investigative Task Force, Gang Enforcement unit, Crime Analysis, the Regional Drug Task Force, Criminal Intelligence unit, SPOCAT and the Forensic unit.[4]
Detention Services Division
The Detention Services is lead by a Captain whose essential obligation is to give general administration course and control for the Detention Services Division. The Detention Services Division comprises the Corrections Unit, Medical Unit, Classification Unit, and Booking and Administration Unit.[4]
Patrol Division
The Patrol Division is separated into two regions. The City of Spokane Valley Precinct is told by an Inspector of the Sheriff's Office (otherwise called Chief of Police, City of the Spokane Valley), whose essential obligation is to give general administration course and control for that Precinct and for all law authorization exercises inside the City of Spokane Valley, to incorporate, Uniformed Patrol, Traffic Enforcement, Investigation of Crimes against Property, Fleet Management, Communications, School Resource Deputies and other Special units.[4]
The Downtown Precinct is instructed by a Captain whose essential duty is to give general administration bearing and control for that Precinct. The Downtown Precinct comprises Uniformed Patrol, Traffic unit, K-9 unit and other speciality units.[4]
Administrative Division
The Administration Division is told by the Undersheriff whose essential duty is to give general administration bearing and control for the Administration division. The Administration Division comprises Technical Services and Administrative Services.[4]

Rank of Authority
Sheriff: Elected by the residents of Spokane County.
Undersheriff: A commissioned deputy agent named by the Sheriff to practice general supervision.
Inspector: A commissioned deputy selected by the Sheriff and answerable for order of the City of Spokane Valley Precinct.
Captain: An individual named by the Sheriff as Chief Criminal Deputy or Detention Services Commander or chose by the Sheriff from a confirmed common assistance list.
Lieutenant/Corrections Lieutenant: A commissioned deputy or corrections deputy designated by the Sheriff from an affirmed common help rundown to order at least one units inside a division.
Unit Manager: A non-authorized position delegated by the Sheriff from a guaranteed common assistance list answerable for overseeing and coordinating the exercises of a unit inside the Sheriff's Office.
Sergeant/Corrections Sergeant/Communications Supervisor/Unit Supervisor: A dispatched, constrained authorized, or non-charged position named by the Sheriff from a guaranteed common assistance list and answerable for first level supervision in their particular region of task.
Detective/Corporal: A dispatched agent delegated by the Sheriff from a guaranteed common help list liable for insightful or supervisory assignments as assigned by a charged official of predominant position.
Deputy: A dispatched appointee selected by the Sheriff from an affirmed common help list who is subordinate to all other charged positions inside the Sheriff's Office.
Employees: Appointed by the Sheriff from a confirmed civil service list. These representatives are under the immediate supervision of the different leaders of the units to which they are appointed
