The Stranger Within a Woman (Japanese: 女の中にいる他人, Hepburn: Onna no naka ni iru tanin) is a 1966 film directed by Mikio Naruse. The writer, Toshirō Ide, based it on the 1951 novel The Thin Line by Edward Atiyah, so the film is also known by the novel's title in some English sources.[2][better source needed][1] The film starred Keiju Kobayashi, Michiyo Aratama, and Mitsuko Kusabue.

Release
The Stranger Within a Woman was distributed by Toho and received a roadshow theatrical release on January 25, 1966.[1] The film was released with English subtitles in the United States by Toho International in July 1967.[1]
Reception
At the Mainichi Film Concours, Tatsuya Mihashi won the award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film.[1]
