Cold Spring Lane station is one of 33 stops on the Baltimore Light Rail. The stop is located on Cold Spring Lane near the interchange with Interstate 83, and is within a close walk to the Baltimore City Public Schools Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and Western High School.

Bus Routes 33 and 38 operate past the station. The stop is also within a close walk of Bus Route 27 and a longer walk of Bus Route 1. There is no commuter parking at the station,[2] and also no legal parking nearby to wait for pickups or dropoffs.

The Cold Spring Lane stop is in close proximity to the former Melvale Station which was owned by the Northern Central Railway, an affiliate of the Pennsylvania Railroad.[3]
