María Pedraza (born 26 January 1996)[1] is a Spanish actress and ballerina best known for portraying Alison Parker in the series Money Heist.[2] She also starred in the Netflix series Élite, playing the role of Marina Nunier Osuna and in the Netflix series Toy Boy, playing the role of Triana.

Career

Pedraza was discovered through her Instagram account by film director Esteban Crespo who invited her to attend an audition for the lead role of his debut film AMAR.[3] Pedraza obtained the role of Laura, joining a cast also made up of Pol Monen, Natalia Tena, Gustavo Salmerón and Nacho Fresneda.[4][5] The film was released in 2017.

Her second project as an actress was playing Alison Parker, daughter of the British ambassador to Spain, in the popular Atresmedia series Money Heist (La Casa de Papel). The subsequent purchase of it by Netflix earned the actress both national and international recognition.[6] That same year she was part of the cast of the interactive web series Si fueras tú ("If it were you"), produced by RTVE for its digital platform "Playz" platform, playing the roles of Alba Ruiz Alonso and Cristina Romero.[7] This resulted in a TV movie, which premiered on 4 December 2017 on La 1.

At the beginning of 2018, Pedraza's participation in the second Netflix original Spanish series entitled Élite was announced, with fellow Money Heist cast members Miguel Herrán and Jaime Lorente.[8] Élite premiered in October 2018. After filming finishing, Atresmedia confirmed that the actress would be the protagonist of Toy Boy, produced by Plano a Plano.[9] Between September and October 2018, the Jota Linaresand-directed A quién te llevarías a una isla desierta for Netflix.[10] The film was presented at the XXII edition of the Festival of Malaga and its premiere took place on 12 April 2019.[11]

In August 2019, the filming of El verano que vivimos ("The Summer We Lived") begins, a film directed by Carlos Sedes with Blanca Suárez and Javier Rey.[12]
