The Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (Russian: Российская Академия естественных наук) is a Russian non-governmental organization, founded[by whom?] on August 31, 1990 in Moscow, in the erstwhile Soviet Union. As of 2018 the Academy operates under the Federal Law of August 23, 1996 No. 127-FZ "On Science and State Scientific-Technical Politics".[1] The Russian Academy of Natural Sciences principally aims to unite scholars in different fields to work for the betterment of Russia.[2]

The current president of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences is Kuznetsov Oleg Leonidovich. The current Vice President and Chief Secretary is Ivanitskaya Lida Vladimirovna.[3]

The Russian Academy of Natural Sciences does not have any association with the Russian Academy of Sciences and has come under criticism for the fact that many of its members do not have any scientific credentials and because some of its members peddle pseudoscience,[4][5][6] such as Anatoly Fomenko's "New Chronology".
