Olga Nikolayevna Yamshchikova (Russian: Ольга Николаевна Ямщикова; 1914–1983) was Soviet female aviator, aviation instructor, Soviet Air Force commander, and test pilot. She has three confirmed kills from World War II. For her accomplishments she was awarded the Order of the Great Patriotic War, Order of the Red Star (three times), and the Order of the Red Banner of Labor among other medals.[1]
She was one of the first female pilots to shoot down an enemy aircraft, doing so on 24 September 1942 near Stalingrad.[2]
