Heirs of the Night is a television series created and written by Maria von Heland and Diederik van Rooijen, and directed by Diederik van Rooijen. The story is based on the book series Die Erben der Nacht by Ulrike Schweikert.[1]

They are 13 family of vampires named as clan:
- Dracas: This clan is from Norwegian, they have won the most ruby, their birth power is telepathy but by winning fights against other clans of vampires the ruby of Vikla and Grimur. It is said that Dracas are the most ruthless and the most hungry of power didn't had any mercy during the war (Dracas known: Lars, the twins Inger and Fanny, the Baron Magnus, Karen and Ragnar);
- Vamalia: This family who live in Allemagne has the power of love, the other clans says that it's the useless and the weakest power (Vamilia known: Elena, her daughter Anna and her grand-kids Alisa and Tammo);
- Nosferas: This clan live on Italy who the ruby is encrusted in an inverted cross, we have seen its main power make the crosses and holy water inactive against vampires. This clan won a battle against the Arrufat, gaining by the same time there ruby (Nosferas known: the count Claudio, the countess Viola, they're boy Luciano, and the senior Humberto);
- Pyras: They live in France, they have the power to talk with the animals(Pyras known: Joanne and her mother);
- Vyrad: They come from England, they are the one who have an extraordinary power, the power to control the wind, lighting, creating clouds, bring down the rain, and make it snow(Vyrad known: Malcom and Sir Milton);
- Lycana: This clan are from Ireland fought against the Dracas and the Nosferas but we do not know who exactly killed them, only the heir of the Lycana survived keeping with him the ruby of his clan has the power of shape shifting usually in animal, he bit two times a young girl transforming her into vampire shadows so that he cannot feel alone, but then it is said that the Upiry took them their ruby for Dracula ( but this cannot be because the girl and the young heir are children under 18 years old and they said that it is the Upiry who stole their ruby but the Upiry were all in the dungeon of Dracula for more than 300 years so it's impossible that it was the Upiry who stole the ruby), when the Upiry took the ruby the young were was in the form of a wolf so he couldn't anymore be a human unless he take back the ruby (Lycana known: Seymour);
- Upiry: they come from Romania, this clan had the ruby who has the power of astral projection threw the shadow. They were under the protection of Dracula during the war against him, they fought for him, the others clans thought they were all dead but Dracula before he was defeated change them all into bats and imprisoned them in his donjon. 300 years later after the awakening of Dracula, he liberate a vampire named Tonka so she can go steal from all the elders the rubies in exchange of her work he said he will liberate the clan (Upiry known: Tonka);
- Caminada: they come from Swiss, they had the power of Invisibility;
- Vikla: They come from Greece (map), the ruby of the Vikla have the power of telekinesis;
- Tova: They come from Holland(map), the ruby of the Tova allow the vampire to move on water;
- Belov: they come from Russia, the had the power to walk during sunlight;
- Grimur: They come from Austria (map), they ruby of the Grimur has the power to capture sunlight;
- Arrufat: They come from Spain, the ruby of the Arrufat has the power to talk with the dead.
Production
Development
The series was produced by the Dutch production company Lemming Film in collaboration with Hamster Film, Maze Pictures and Maipo Film.[2]
In December 2017 the series received a financial contribution of close to €720,000 by the Netherlands Film Production Incentive.[3] In March 2018 the series received another financial contribution of close to €250,000.[4] Initially it was planned for Marco van Geffen to direct the series.[3][4]
Casting
On 11 June 2018 it was announced that Monic Hendrickx, Sallie Harmsen and Benja Bruijning were added to the cast.[2][5]
Filming
Principal photography commenced on 4 June 2018 and was scheduled until February 2019.[2][5] Filming concluded on 22 March 2019. Filming took place in Norway, Latvia and Croatia.[2][6]
