Dheepam (transl. Lamp) is a 1977 Indian Tamil film, directed by K. Vijayan and produced by K. Balaji. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan, Sujatha, Vijayakumar and Sangeetha in lead roles. The film had musical score by Ilaiyaraaja.[1][2][3][4] It was a remake of the Madhu-starrer Malayalam film Theekkanal. The film was also remade in Telugu as Amaradeepam with Krishnam Raju and in Hindi as Amardeep with Rajesh Khanna.

The music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja.[5] The song "Anthapurathil Oru" is set in Mayamalavagowla raga.[6] The song "Poovizhi Vaasalil" is set in Yamuna Kalyani raga.[7]

Director C. V. Sridhar, after hearing the song "Poovizhi Vaasalil" selected Ilaiyaraaja as music director for his next film, Ilamai Oonjalaadugirathu.
