Tanguy-Austin Nianzou Kouassi (born 7 June 2002) is a French professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Paris Saint-Germain.[2][3]

Club career

Paris Saint-Germain

An academy graduate of Paris Saint-Germain, Kouassi made his professional debut on 7 December 2019 in a 3–1 league win against Montpellier.[4] He scored his first goal in a 3-0 cup win against Reims on 22 January 2020. [5] This goal Kouassi scored was the 4000th goal in PSG’s history.[6] Kouassi scored his first Ligue 1 goal (and a brace) in an away game that ended 4-4 against Amiens on 15 February 2020.[7]

It has been reported that he will be leaving Paris Saint-Germain when his contract runs out on June 30th, with many European giants waiting to recruit him. On 16 June 2020, Kouassi was strongly linked with a move to FC Bayern Munich after rejecting a deal with Paris Saint-Germain.[8]

International career

Born in France, Kouassi is of Ivorian descent.[9] Kouassi is a current French youth international. He was part of French squad which reached semi-finals in 2019 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.

He was an important part of French team which finished third at 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup. He started all seven matches of France in the tournament and scored the equalizer in his team's 6–1 pre-quarter win against Spain.[10]
