VTV7 is a national educational channel owned by Vietnam Television. It is a product of the cooperation between VTV Educational Programs Product Center (Trung tâm sản xuất các chương trình giáo dục của VTV) with the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, and its partners EBS (Korea) and NHK (Japan). VTV7 aired at 11:30 am on November 20th, 2015[1], and officially aired at 6 am on January 1th, 2016.[2] Its launching ceremony was broadcast on January 8, 2016. [3]

The audience of VTV7 channel is mainly students. At the beginning of the broadcast, VTV7 is aimed at preschool and elementary children. In addition, the channel also has programs suitable for other object such as middle school students, high school, adults, ethnic minorities or people with disabilities, the less fortunate.

Although VTV7 spent most of the time on educational programs, it also has entertainment program frameworks or programs of humanitarian significance. It also have the program has purchased the copyright from foreign partners.

VTV7, along with VTV8 and VTV9 (new version), were 3 television channels aired in 2016
