Sika Club Beirut (Arabic: نادي السكة الحديد بيروت, lit. 'Railway Club Beirut'), also known as D.H.P. in reference to the Damascus–Hama and Extensions Railway (French: Damas-Hamah et Prolongements) in Lebanon,[1] was a Lebanese multi-sports club based in the Forn El Chebbak district of Beirut. The club used to practice football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis and swimming.[2] Sika won the Lebanese Premier League three times: in 1936, 1939 and 1941.[2][3]
In 1935, Sika played at the inaugural game of the Beirut Municipal Stadium with players such as Camille Cordahi and Joseph Nalbandian.[4] Five Sika players were present in Lebanon's lineup during their first international match against Mandatory Palestine in 1940: Yeguiché, Sacre, Barbir, Nercesse and Cordahi.[5]
Following the disestablishment of the Lebanese railroad, the club also followed and folded.[1]
