Ant Gyi (Template:Lang-my 17 June 1923 – 23 June 2017) was a prominent Burmese singer and musician, best known for singing classic Burmese songs including "Man Taung Yeik Kho" (‹See Tfd›မန်းတောင်), "Lu Gyun Lu Kaung" (‹See Tfd›လူချွန်လူကောင်း), "Yin Ta Ko Me" (‹See Tfd›ယဉ်တစ်ကိုယ်မယ်), "Babu Thuza" (‹See Tfd›ပန်းပုသူဇာ), "Turiya Lulin" ‹See Tfd›တူရိယာလုလင်, "Yangon Thu" (‹See Tfd›ရန်ကုန်သူ), "Turiya Lon May" (‹See Tfd›တူရိယာလုံမေ), "Aung Pinle" ‹See Tfd›အောင်ပင်လယ်, and "Shwe Mingan" (‹See Tfd›ရွှေမင်းဂံ).
Personal life
Born to K.K. Bahattacharjee, Superintendent of the Forest Department (Chindwin Circle) and Daw Win, he attended the American Baptist Mission School.[1] Married to May Nyunt, Ant Gyi had two sons and one daughter.[2] He died on 23 June 2017 at the Parami General Hospital in Yangon, Myanmar, and cremated at Yayway Cemetery on 25 June.[3] His grand-nephew, Htun Htun, is an actor.[3]
