Pacific Drilling is an offshore ultra-deepwater drilling company.[1] It is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, trading as PACD.[1][2][3]

Overview

The company was founded in 2006 by Idan Ofer, a billionaire Israeli business magnate.[4] It was listed on the Norwegian stock exchange as PDSA until 2011, when it joined the New York Stock Exchange as PACD.[4]

It is headquartered in Luxembourg, with its corporate office located in Houston, Texas.[1] It employs a workforce of roughly 900.[1] Its Chairman is Cyril Ducau and its Chief Executive Officer is Christian J. Beckett.[1][2]

It operates drillships for exploration internationally for ultra-deepwater offshore drilling.[4] In 2011, one ship called the Pacific Bora was active in the Agbami Field near Nigeria.[4] Other ships are active in the Offshore oil and gas in the US Gulf of Mexico and in Brazil.[4]
