Al Rafisah Dam
Appearance
Al-Rafisah Dam[1] (Template:Lang-ar), also Al-Rufaisah Dam (Template:Lang-ar),[2] is a dam of Sharjah, the United Arab Emirates. It dams the Wadi Shis near the village of Al-Rafisah. The dam was built in the 1980s at the same time as the Khor Fakkan Dam by Emirates McAlpine Contractors Ltd, a subsidiary of Alfred McAlpine International Ltd under a $63 million contract.[3][4]
A rest area with tourist facilities was built alongside the dam as part of the Sharjah-Khor Fakkan highway (S 142) project, a 14-year project to connect the interior of the UAE with the east coast.[1][2]
