Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert (born 1979) is an Italian fashion editor and Creative Director.

Engelbert was born in Milan, and studied at the Brera Fine Arts Academy, where her mother is teaching sculpture and an artist. She has four siblings.[1] She began modelling for Dolce and Gabbana when she was in her late teens, but left catwalk modelling to pursue a career in styling. She worked as a stylist for fashion magazine Pig and was later taken on by Anna Dello Russo, who was working as Vogue's fashion editor at the time.[1] Engelbert worked under famed editor Franca Sozzani at Italian Vogue [2] before the two worked together running Vogue Gioiello and Vogue Pelle [3]

As a stylist, Engelbert has collaborated on editorials with photographers such as Peter Lindberg, Patrick Demarchelier, Paolo Roversi and Mario Sorrenti [4] Engelbert has also worked as a stylist with numerous global fashion brands including Carolina Herrera, Michael Kors and Dolce & Gabbana [5]

In 2011 Engelbert moved to New York to work for fashion magazine W; she gained a following as a street style icon after she was photographed for Scott Schuman's new blog The Sartorialist.[1] As a Creative Director, Engelbert has worked on immersive theatre production Queen of the Night at The Diamond Horseshoe[6] as well as a series of campaign videos for Tory Burch [7]

In 2017 Engelbert's book, Gio_graphy: Fun in The Wild World of Fashion (ISBN 978-0847858392) was published by Rizzoli New York.[8][9][10]

Engelbert is currently Creative Director for Swarovski Professional [11] and in this role she has launched the Swarovski Book of Dreams Vol I (in Sept 2018)[12] and Volume II (Feb 2019)[13]

In 2016 she married Oscar Engelbert, a property developer, in Capri.[1][14] They live in Manhattan.[15] Her sister is designer Sara Battaglia.
