"Jump Around" is a song by British YouTube personality and rapper KSI, featuring American rapper Waka Flocka Flame. It was released on 16 September 2016 through Island Records. The song is the third single from KSI's second extended play (EP) of the same name, which was released on 28 October 2016.[2] The song samples the 1992 song "Jump Around" by American hip hop group House of Pain.[3]

Background

The song was recorded by KSI in early 2016 and was originally intended to only be a song on his upcoming second extended play, and not a single, with no featured artist.[4] In May 2016, during a studio session with Sway and DJ Turkish in England, American rapper Waka Flocka Flame was played some of KSI's unreleased songs, including his version of "Jump Around", which Waka Flocka Flame "was going nuts over". Waka Flocka Flame asked if he could feature on the song, and he immediately recorded a verse whilst in England, which lead to the decision to release the song as a single.[5][6]

Promotion

The song was made available for pre-order on 5 August 2016. A fifteen seconds long snippet of the song and its music video appears at the end of the music video for KSI's previous 2016 single "Friends with Benefits".[7]

Music video

The music video was filmed in the United States in July 2016 and was uploaded to KSI's Vevo channel on YouTube on 3 October 2016.[6][8] It has 13 million views.[9]
