Oru Veedu Oru Ulagam (lit.'One House, One World') is a 1978 Tamil-language drama film directed and co-produced by Durai. The film stars Vijay Babu [3]Srikanth, Major Sundarrajan, Delhi Ganesh, Surulirajan, Shoba, Pandari Bai and Manorama.

Plot

Gowri (Shoba) is the daughter of a piously Brahmin household. She has to overcome considerable parental resistance to be allowed access to higher education. She falls in love with A.R.K., a lecturer, then she marries the man’s son, Murali. When her husband is accidentally drowned, her parents insist on her leading the austere and repressed life of a widow. However, A.R.K. intervenes and manages to get his daughter-in-law remarried.[2]

Production

Oru Veedu Oru Ulagam was directed by Durai and produced by him, Dass and Raghunath under the banner Movie International.[4] The dialogus were written by Vietnam Veedu Sundaram, and the story by Lalitha.[2]

Soundtrack

The soundtrack of the film was composed by M. S. Viswanathan, while the lyrics were written by Vaali, Alangudi Somu and Pulamaipithan.[5]
