Authentic (foaled May 5th, 2017) is an American Thoroughbred racehorse and the winner of the 2020 Haskell Invitational Stakes.
Career
Authentic's first race was on November 9th, 2019, at Del Mar, where he came in first. He began his 2020 season with his first graded race, the Grade-3 January 4th, 2020 Sham Stakes in which he was victorious.[1]
He continued his winning ways and capped off a three race win streak with a March 7th, 2020, win at the Grade-2 San Felipe Stakes.[2]
On July 6th, 2020, he came in 2nd place at the Grade-1 Santa Anita Derby. [3]
He then picked up the biggest win of his career by winning the July 18th, 2020, Haskell Invitational Stakes. [4] Due to his success during the 2020 season, he is seen as a contender in the 2020 Road to the Kentucky Derby.
