Shelby is the debut studio album by American rapper Lil Skies. It was released on March 1, 2019 via Atlantic Records. The album features guest appearances from Gucci Mane, Gunna and Landon Cube. Shelby debuted at number five on the US Billboard 200.[3]

Background

On February 27, 2019, Skies announced that the album will be released on February 28, 2019. However, the album was released two days later. He revealed the title and cover art of the album through Twitter the same day the album was released. Skies dedicated this album to his mother, who appears in the album title and cover. It describes the hard times he has gone through with the little help of his fans.

Singles

On January 31, 2019, Skies released the lead single from the project, "Name in the Sand". The next day he uploaded the official music video to YouTube. On March 1, 2019, "I" was released as the second single. It debuted at number 39 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the highest charting single of Skies' career.

Commercial performance

Shelby debuted at number five on the US Billboard 200 chart, earning 54,122 album-equivalent units (with 6,032 in pure album sales) in its first week. This became Skies' second top-ten album on the chart. The album also accumulated a total of 68,609,096 on-demand audio streams that week.[4]
