Kargılı is a village in Tarsus district of Mersin Province, Turkey. It is situated at 36°56′N 35°04′E / 36.933°N 35.067°E / 36.933; 35.067 in Çukurova (Cilicia of the antiquity) to the east of Tarsus and to the south of Turkish state highway D.400. Its distance to Tarsus is 20 kilometres (12 mi) and to Mersin is 47 kilometres (29 mi). The population of Kargılı was 816 [1] as of 2012. The new airpost of the region, namely Çukurova Airport is planned to be constructed between Çiçekli and Kargılı .
