Kılan (also known as Aktoprak) is a village in Niğde Province, Turkey.
Kılan is a part of Ulukışla ilçe (district) of Niğde Province at 37°28′54″N 34°28′9″E / 37.48167°N 34.46917°E[1] Its population was 1916 as of 2010[2]
Probably the earliest settlement was established during the Roman Empire era. About 250 years ago, during the Ottoman Empire era, a Turkmen tribe named Kılanoğulları ('sons of Kılan') settled around the village. [3] In 1989 the municipality of Kılan was established and Kılan was declared a belde ('seat of township') . However in 2015 the municipality was disestablished. [3]
The main economic activity is agriculture and animal husbandry. The main crop is cherry.
