Five years later, Reito awakens and learns that while he was asleep, the world was struck by the MK (Man Killing) Virus that caused the death of almost every male human in the planet, with only a few surviving ones being put in cryostasis. Much to his surprise, Reito learns that he is one of five males in Japan who somehow developed immunity to the MK Virus and is forced to take part in a breeding program to ensure mankind's survival.
