Pacheco is a noble lineage of Portuguese and Spanish origin. A Roman general called Vivio Pacieco, sent by Julius Caesar to fight in the Iberian peninsula, is one of the first persons recorded with this surname[1], which could translate to "Noble One". The surname has also a jewish variant traced to Franks in France.[2]
