Lusamba Vanessa Ka La La known in the music industry as KU LALA is a singer and songwriter[1] known for her 2020 single 'No Smoke' which featured on Apple Music's Pop Deluxe playlist.[2]

Events

Lusamba performed at the Canadian Music Week in 2019[3] where she performed her debut single, 'DMCO' meaning 'Don't Count Me Out'[4]. LU also won the grand prize at the RBC's Emerging Musician Program,[5] which gives her $10,000 worth of studio time among other prizes.[6]

Critical Reception

Her debut single, 'DMCO' meaning 'Don't Count Me Out'[4] was described by Complex as 'powerful'.[7] Lusamba's second single, 'Body Knew' has been described as 'the pop song of the spring' by Unheardgems.[8] Ku Lala's third single, 'Want You' talked about sabotage and self love as described by Reignland.[9] The song was also described by BlackPlastic.co.uk as having an assertive chorus.[10] Sidedoor Mag described 'Body Knew' as 'keeping the quality high' and consistent,[11] Sidedoor Mag also described her 2020 single, 'No Smoke' as 'upbeat, catchy, and empowering'.[12]
