Punyasthree is a 1986 Telugu-language drama film, produced by K. Benarjee under the Pramoda Art Films banner and directed by Ravi Raja Pinisetty. It stars Rajendra Prasad, Karthik and Bhavya in the lead roles, with music composed by Chakravarthy.[2] The film is a remake of the Tamil film Aval Sumangalithan (1985).[3]

Plot

Babu Rao (Gollapudi Maruthi Rao), a watchman to a temple, though he is poor, leads a happy life with his wife Parvathi (Annapurna), daughter Lakshmi (Bhavya) and son Balu (Ali). Babu Rao looks an alliance for Lakshmi Bhaskar (Karthik) a civil engineer who lives along with a Christian family Peter (Rajendra Prasad) and his sister Stella (Samyutha). Bhaskar marries Lakshmi. All of them start living very happily; Bhaskar takes care as his in-law's family as his own. Suddenly a shocking incident; Bhaskar finds out he is terminally ill with brain cancer when Lakshmi learns it, she too dies along with Bhaskar, showing that the couple is immortal.
