Parrita is a district of the Parrita canton, in the Puntarenas province of Costa Rica.[1][2] As the only district in the canton, it occupies the same area as the whole canton, this situation is unique among the cantons and districts of Costa Rica.

History

Parrita was created on 4 August 1971 by Decreto Ejecutivo 1898-G.[2]

Geography

Parrita has an area of 480.44 km²[3] and an elevation of 4 metres.[1]
