King of the Railway is a 2013 direct-to-video CGI-animated fantasy-comedy adventure film of the TV series, Thomas & Friends. The film's CGI animation is by Arc Productions.
Directed by Rob Silvestri, the film stars Ben Small and Martin Sherman as Thomas the Tank Engine in the US and the UK respectively. Co-stars include Keith Wickham, Kerry Shale, William Hope and Teresa Gallagher.
Bob Golding, Mike Grady, Jonathan Forbes, Rebecca O'Mara and Miranda Raison join the cast.
Plot
Thomas, Percy, James and all their Steam Team friends become very excited when Sir Robert Norramby, the Earl of Sodor, an old friend of Sir Topham Hatt returns to the island with a big surprise. As the Steam Team discover mysteries of the past and legends of long-ago heroes, they also meet Millie, the Earl's private engine, & Stephen, one of the earliest steam engines ever built. Meanwhile, Gordon & Spencer are stunned when they encounter Connor and Caitlin, two new streamlined steam engines from the Mainland who are even faster than they are. But then disaster strikes when Stephen goes missing, and Thomas along with the other engines have to put their bravery to the test in order to find their new friend in time for the re-opening of Ulfstead Castle the very next day.
