The 1978 Cal Poly Pomona Broncos football team represented California State Polytechnic University, Pomona during the 1978 NCAA Division II football season.

Cal Poly Pomona competed in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Cal Poly Pomona was led by second-year head coach Jim Jones. They played home games at Kellogg Field in Pomona, California. The Broncos finished the season with a record of three wins and seven losses (3–7, 1–1 CCAA).
