Preston (also Pleasant Springs) is an unincorporated community in Kemper County, Mississippi. It lies at the intersection of State Highways 21 and 397 northwest of the city of De Kalb, the county seat of Kemper County.[2] Its elevation is 541 feet (165 m).[1] Although it is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 39354.[3]

On June 21, 1964,James Chaney,Andrew Goodman, Michael Schwerner were killed by the KKK 7 miles west of Preston off 21. On June 23 there burned station wagon was found along with other evidence. It was later shown in the 1988 film Mississippi Burning.
