Wilking Jose Rodríguez Carrasco (born March 2, 1990) is a Venezuelan professional baseball pitcher for the Rieleros de Aguascalientes of the Mexican League. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Kansas City Royals.

Career

Tampa Bay Rays

Rodríguez signed with the Tampa Bay Rays as an international free agent. Before the 2012 season, he ranked as the Rays' 20th best prospect,[1] and was added to the Rays' 40 man roster to protect him from the Rule 5 draft.[2]

Kansas City Royals

Rodríguez signed a minor league deal with the Kansas City Royals on November 23, 2013.[3] The team selected his contract from Triple A Omaha on June 2, 2014, and added him to their 25-man roster.[4] He was released by the Royals on August 11, 2014.[5]

New York Yankees

On August 18, he signed a minor league contract with the New York Yankees. He was released just four days later, without having thrown a single pitch.[6]

On April 15, 2015, Rodriguez was suspended 80 games for a PED violation.[7] He became a free agent on November 6, 2015.

Rieleros de Aguascalientes

On January 1, 2020, Rodriguez signed with the Rieleros de Aguascalientes of the Mexican League.
