Gabriel Juan Escarrer Jaume (born January 1971)[2] is a Spanish billionaire businessman, and the vice-chairman and CEO of Meliá Hotels International.[3]

Early life

He is the son of the founder and chairman, Gabriel Escarrer Juliá.[4]

Escarrer has a degree from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where he specialized in finance and business management.[5] He has an MBA from ESADE.[6]

Career

Escarrer worked in New York City in finance, before joining Meliá Hotels.[4] Escarrer and his family own almost 52% of Meliá Hotels.[1]

Personal life

Escarrer is married, with six children, and lives in Palma de Majorca, Spain.[1]
