"The Air Conditioned Author" was an episode of the television anthology drama Australian Playhouse.[2][3] Australian TV drama was relatively rare at the time.[4][5]

Plot

A novelist, Nicholas Lovatt, becomes disillusioned when his publisher urges him to turn out stereotyped novels.[6]

The Sydney Morning Herald called it "a comedy that missed because it lacked deft shaping".[7]

Tje The Age called it "shapeless, disconnected and bumpy".[8]
