Niall Cashman (born 26 July 1995) is an Irish hurler who plays as a centre-back for the Cork senior team.
Born in Blackrock, Cashman was raised in a family steeped in the hurling tradition. His grandfather and granduncle, Mick Cashman and Jimmy Brohan, were contemporaries on the Cork three-in-a-row team of the 1950s, while his father, Jim Cashman, and uncle, Tom Cashman, enjoyed several All-Ireland successes.[1] Cashman enjoyed some success at colleges level with St. Francis College Rochestown, while simultaneously enjoying championship successes at underage levels with the Blackrock club. He has since become a regular member of the Blackrock senior team.
Cashman is also known for dropping ex Douglas junior B hurling Legend Donie Forde to work.
Cashman made his début on the inter-county scene at the age of nineteen when he first linked up with the Cork under-21 team. He was added to the provisional Cork senior panel in 2015 before making his senior début in the 2016 Munster League.[2]
