Started in May 2007, with a focus on Ireland - Dublin, Meath and beyond.
Edit interests around Dublin localities and history, ditto for parts of Meath, Wicklow, Kildare, Cork, Kerry and the rest of Ireland, myth and folklore, libraries, fantasy and science fiction, including Irish authors in those areas, Gaeilge, some industry areas, and generally working towards a more linked-up world (long-time on Web, several sites and projects, including The Open Directory / DMOZ). Also joined Commons, aiming to add content from own stores, including current photography and historic mapping.
Looking forward to this work, having made suggestions and provided material to existing Wikipedians in the past (and had the "compliment" of having some of my material "borrowed" too), and hoping to find an interesting and (fairly) harmonious community. - Still enjoying it all in 2009, but after some good periods in 2007 and some really busy times in 2008, including much time on article classification, I have, due to the demands of the rest of life, spent much of 2009 on Wikibreak. But I am never entirely away for long... As for the harmonious community, well, mostly yes, I guess. But it would be good to see more active members, less time spent on a few ever-lasting disputes, and less petty vandalism. Still remains one of the most fulfilling, and I think important, projects about. Whatever limitations there are, no other way of approaching the making of an encyclopedia can compare - Wikipedia can truly reach accumulate so much local / narrow study area knowledge. Forward! - And back properly after an extended wikibreak, after busy periods of family life. Kept in practice lightly each year, and kept an eye on some areas. Now, after a trial period of a couple of weeks, partly working through (and shrinking) my watchlist, and a week of offline thinking time in some mountains very far away, I'm back with renewed energy, and hoping to keep up a regular presence, at least actively editing for a few sessions every week. Still a great project... SeoR (talk) 15:02, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
Short break from end 19th to sometime around the 28th December, travel and seasonal priorities, but will be keeping an eye, and will try to tackle 1-2 mid-term items. Seasonal greetings to all! Will still try to get Unassessed Ireland below 10k for the year-end. SeoR (talk) 00:41, 26 December 2018 (UTC)
2019 limited presences
From 2-28 February, I will be often remote, without data access, so my works (WP Ireland assessment, Pending Changes, and ordinary article work), and answering of any messages, may slow or have gaps of 1-5 days.SeoR (talk) 10:58, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
From 4 March to 15 March, I will be able to edit with gaps of 1-2 days. I will be offline from 2-5 May inclusive, and from 16-28 inclusive will only have occasional access, back fully 29 May. Unplanned gap 5-12 June inclusive.
WP Ireland article rating / backlog closing
One of my main targets last year was to work through the backlog of over 15k articles unrated in the WP Irish project, and, despite more than 500 new articles flowing in during the process, I managed more than 5.5k reviews, to get below 10k "to do" by 29 December 2018. I am determined (and I am not the only editor on the case, I'm sure) to clear this backlog entirely this year. For the first two months of 2019, I mostly targeted other work, but I'll give this a lot of attention in the months ahead - as of now, 9799 articles to review and rate... As part of this work I also get the chaance to help some new articles on WP, and to copyedit or do other basic fixes to some more obscure items. I have now adopted Twinkle and will try to do more ancillary work as I continue rating in 2019. SeoR (talk) 20:25, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
