He reportedly got his start competing in rodeos around the U.S. In the early 1920s, he began appearing in Hollywood westerns.[3] He and the similarly short actor Ben Corbett produced and starred in a series of comedy shorts during that decade that would run before Universal's feature-length westerns.[1] He died on August 17, 1936, in Los Angeles, California.[4]
