Gilbert "Pee Wee" Holmes was a Canadian actor and stunt performer known for his short stature. He appeared in more than 70 Hollywood films between 1920 and 1934, and often co-starred in Tom Mix comedy westerns.[1][2]
Biography
Gilbert was born in Saskatchewan, Canada, and raised in Miles City, Montana. He reportedly got his start competing in rodeos around the U.S. In the early 1920s, he began appearing in Hollywood westerns.[3] He and the similarly short actor Ben Corbett produced and starred in a series of comedy shorts during that decade that would run before Universal's feature-length westerns.[1] He died on August 17, 1936, in Los Angeles, California.[4]
