Tatiana Palanca alias Miss Tati is a Norwegian singer, of Angolan and Portuguese origin.
Biography
Born in Portugal in 1986, with Angolan parents, this soul and R&B singer grew up in the city of Setúbal before moving to Bergen in Norway. Inspired by hip-hop, soul, funk and R&B Miss Tati has sparked international interest and received her much-deserved national breakthrough thin 2015. Her latest release, the single «Don’t Let Go», gathered love and attention from Okayafrica,[1] The Guardian playlist[2] and a shout out from former BBC Radio 1 host Rob da Bank.[3] She's been seen and heard on festivals like Nattjazz, Bergenfest, Øyafestivalen and Oslo World Music Festival in Oslo.[4][5]
«Originally from Angola-via-Portugal, the English-speaking Miss Tati effortlessly presses her American soul and hip-hop inspirations on 'Be Free', confidently swinging between the neo-soul renaissance of THEEsatisfaction and the ever-loved Janelle Monáe. Those are high aspirations, sure, but Tati separates herself with indignant verses - proving she has something else to offer along the way.» Matt Korman, The 405 magazine (UK).[6]
«Self-described as a “sassy soulmistress,” you might expect to hear Miss Tati’s music in any Spike Lee joint thanks to that downtown, sunshine-filled vibe. Her single "Shakedown" is something you’ll be jamming to in no time.» Shruti Ganguly, NYLON magazine (US)[7]
