Marty Moore (born 1 March 1991) is an Irish rugby union player for Ulster. His preferred position is tighthead prop. He has also played professionally for Leinster Rugby and played briefly in England. He also played for the Ireland national rugby union team from 2014–2015.
Professional
Former NUIM Barnhall and Castleknock College player Martin Moore has earned glowing praise from his coaches at Leinster and is targeting his first starts in the coming campaign with Leinster having made several appearances off the bench. The prop, who featured at the opening match at the revamped Lansdowne Road in 2010, has represented Leinster and Ireland up through the age grades. Moore made his senior debut for Leinster Rugby in September 2012 against the Scarlets.[2]
Moore rejected a two-year contract extension with Leinster, and on 25 January 2016, Moore signed a deal with English Premiership side Wasps from the 2016–17 season.[3] Moore was unable, however, to maintain a regular starting role with Wasps.
On 23 November 2017, Moore returns to Ireland to sign for province Ulster in the Pro14 on a two-year deal from the 2018–19 season.[4]
Ireland
Moore made six outings with Ireland Under-20 and was a key part in the squad that competed in the 2011 Six Nations. Teammates in that squad included Tiernan O'Halloran, Jordi Murphy and JJ Hanrahan.
On 2 February 2014, Moore made his debut for Ireland in the 2014 Six Nations Championship win against Scotland.[5] He missed out on selection to the 2015 Rugby World Cup due to a foot injury that required surgery. From 2014 to 2015 he earned 10 caps for Ireland, all in substitute appearances coming off the bench, helping his country win two Six Nations titles in the process.
