Charlotte Crutchfield is an American politician who represents Maryland House of Delegates District 19, a district that consists of the Montgomery County communities, including portions of Laytonsville, Redland, Derwood, Shady Grove, Olney, Norbeck, Norwood, Leisure World, Aspen Hill, Layhill, Glenmont, Wheaton, Kemp Mill, and Four Corners.[1]
Background
Crutchfield was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 8, 1963. She graduated from Howard University with a bachelor's degree in economics in 1986. She earned a juris doctorate from the Boston College School of Law in 1989. She was an assistant state's attorney for Montgomery County from 1991 to 1992. She also served as an associate general counsel at Gulfstream Aerospace from 1996 to 2002. Crutchfield is a practicing attorney in the area of employment law.[2]
In the legislature
Charlotte Crutchfield has been a member of the Maryland House of Delegates since January 9, 2019. She was assigned to the Judiciary Committee and sits on its juvenile law and public safety subcommittees. She is also a member of the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland.[2]
