Template:Infobox South African town 2011 AMatikulu is a settlement in Uthungulu District Municipality in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa.

Town some 130 km north-east of Durban, near Gingindlovu. Named after the Matigulu, also spelt Amatikulu, River. From (mati/wett,golo/vagina) named by king Shaka after crossing the river with a group of pople,out of Zulu politeness the river and the place was called Matugulu The approved form is aMatikulu.[1]
