Academy of International Business (AIB) is the leading association of international business scholars and specialists. Established in 1959, it has over 3000 members in about 72 countries. Membership is open to organizations as well as individuals. The objectives of the Academy of International Business are to foster education and advance professional standards in the field of international business.[1]

Publications

AIB publishes the Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS). JIBS is the premier scholarly journal in the field of international business and is published nine times a year. JIBS is consistently ranked as one of the highest quality journals in the business and management fields.[2] It is also highly rated by the Social Sciences Citation Index (2009 5-year Impact Factor: 5.727, 6th out of 87 in the Business category; 7th out of 112 in the Management category).[3]

AIB also publishes a quarterly newsletter, and the proceedings of its annual conference.[4]

Conferences

The Annual Meeting of the Academy of International Business is held each year in late June or early July. Due to AIB's geographically diverse membership, the location of its annual meeting rotates amongst the continents.

Chapters

AIB currently has 16 Chapters,[5] primarily organized around particular geographic areas to provide its members with additional opportunities for the exchange of ideas, for the presentation of research, and for professional contacts at geographically closer locations. Each chapter organizes an annual regional conference and may also publish its own newsletter and conference proceedings.

Affiliations

The AIB Foundation is a separate, incorporated not-for-profit entity that funds projects that advance the cause of international business.[6] The Foundation solicits funds from AIB members, corporations, and other sources. Ram Milan
