Akemi Kanda

Akemi Kanda (神田朱未, Kanda Akemi, born November 10, 1978 in Nagoya, Aichi) is a Japanese voice actress who is affiliated with Aoni Production. She was formerly a member of the voice actor unit DROPS, which included fellow voice actors Ai Nonaka, Tomoko Kaneda, Mariko Kōda, and Ryōko Shiraishi, and of the voice actor unit Aice5 along with Yui Horie, Chiaki Takahashi, Masumi Asano and Madoka Kimura.

Voice roles

She was a member of the girl singing group, Aice5. Four other members include Masumi Asano, Chiaki Takahashi, Yui Horie and Madoka Kimura.
She has a penchant for appearing in the same anime/game series as her Negima co-stars, considering 32 women provide the voices of the main cast.
- In the Fatal Frame series, she voices Amakura Mio, the protagonist of the second game; Junko Minagawa voices Rei Kurosawa (the protagonist) in the third game. In Negima, their characters (Asuna and Ayaka respectively) were at loggerheads with each other.
- In Negima, Mamiko Noto voices Asuna's classmate Nodoka (also a major character); in Witchblade, Noto voices Masane Amaha (Rihoko's mother). To add to the Negima joke, Akeno Watanabe and Shizuka Itō voices Asagi and Shiori in the same series. (Both were enemies of Masane; in Negima, Watanabe voices Chachamaru and Itō voices Misa). All four women also appeared, along with Junko Minagawa and Ryoko Shiraishi (Kaede Nagase), in the Shakugan no Shana series.
- Again, she appears alongside Mamiko Noto in Clannad, this time with Ai Nonaka (Konoka Konoe)
- She appears with Ai Nonaka again, this time in the game Dynasty Warriors 7 with the former voicing Lian Shi of Wu and the latter voicing Bao Sanniang of Shu.
