alJazeera Jobs is a job board formed in 2007 [2] by a group of recruitment professionals, and funded by Aljazeera Publishing. Its website at alJazeeraJobs.com is ranked as amongst the leading recruitment sites in United Arab Emirates,[3] Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain. alJazeera Jobs remained part of the alJazeera Publishing group until April 2011, when alJazeera Publishing was disbanded after the sale of its main assets to regional media organisations including Al Jazeera Media Network [4] and MBC. alJazeera Jobs was purchased by a management buy-out and remains a private organisation.
Operations
alJazeera Jobs is headquartered in Bahrain and has offices in Riyadh and Kuwait City.
Business model
alJazeera Jobs is engaged by a number of regional governments and NGO’s in the Gulf region to conduct research covering strategy for future job growth within the region. alJazeera Jobs also runs the website alJazeeraJobs.com, a popular [5] expatriate employment website and its listed jobs are sourced by popular jobsites including Careerjet.[6] Adapting a similar business model to TheLadders.com, alJazeera Jobs unlike other employment sites that charge companies to post entries, charges both job seekers and employers. alJazeera Jobs however does not charge for job applications made by candidates to jobs listed on its site – as to do so would be illegal in the Gulf countries as well as in other jurisdictions.
Innovation
alJazeera Jobs through the use of its innovative technology maintains the biggest database of live jobs across the Gulf region with about 45,000 jobs typically advertised which is contrasted with around 3,000 listed by other regional jobsites.
