Aliona Bolsova Zadoinov (Russian: Алёна Вадимовна Большова, Alyona Vadimovna Bolshova; born 6 November 1997) is a Spanish-Moldovan tennis player. Bolsova Zadoinov represented Moldova from 2012 to 2013, until she gained Spanish citizenship in 2013.
Bolsova moved to Spain from Moldova at a young age. Her father, Vadim Zadoynov and her mother Olga Bolșova were both olympic athletes.[1]
Bolsova has a WTA singles career high ranking of 185 achieved on 13 August 2018. She also has a WTA doubles career high ranking of 377 achieved on 21 September 2015, and has won 6 ITF singles titles and 7 ITF doubles titles.
On the junior circuit, Bolsova had a career high ranking of 4, and reached the quarterfinals of the 2015 Australian Open.
Bolsova also played for Oklahoma State University's tennis team as a freshman in the 2016-17 season in NCAA play. There, her singles record was 31-7 in singles and 25-7 in doubles.[2] Her tenure included helping OSU's team reach the final of the 2017 Big 12 Conference championship[3] and the quarterfinals of the 2017 NCAA tournament.[4]
Playing for Spain in Fed Cup, Bolsova has a W/L record of 1–0.
