Alok Rajwade (born 7 February 1989) is an Indian actor, director, singer and painter. He has appeared in Marathi and Hindi films and experimental plays.[1][2]
Early life
Rajwade was born and raised in Pune, where he attended Aksharnandan school and later Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce. He participated in theatre groups at both institutions.[3][4]

Rajwade's first major play was in Abhraham Lincolnche Patra (a Marathi Adaptation of Abraham Lincoln's Letter). He was one of the founding members of the Natak Company. Rajwade acted and directed numerous plays with the Natak Company.
Geli Ekvees Varsha, a play directed by Rajwade, was nominated for an International Theatre Festival in Italy and also won the award for Best Play.
The play Don Shoor, based on a story by Anton Chekov, was directed by Rajwade. It won the 2008 Purushottam Karandak, the inter-collegiate theatre one-act play competition.[5]
For his role in the play Dalan, Rajwade won the Thespo's award for Best Supporting Actor.
Along with doing experimental plays, Rajwade acted minor roles in Marathi films such as Udedh Bun, Bokya Saatbande, and in Hindi films like Dekh Tamasha Dekh.
His first role as a protagonist in a Marathi film was in Vihir, a film directed by Umesh Kulkarni. His performance in Vihir was praised by critics.[6] In 2014, Rajwade played the role of Madhavrao I in the Marathi period film Rama Madhav, directed by Mrinal Kulkarni.
