Amagami (アマガミ, Amagami), is a dating simulation game developed and published by Enterbrain for the PlayStation 2. The game was released on March 19, 2009. An anime adaptation entitled Amagami SS was announced on April 24, 2010 for a scheduled summer release [1]. The anime series began airing on July 1, 2010.

Plot

Two years ago, Tachibana Junichi got his heart broken by a girl who didn't show up for a date on Christmas Eve. Now a second year student in high school, Junichi spends his days inside his closet planetarium, going to school and hanging out with his friends Tanamachi Kaoru and Umehara Masayoshi.

After a chance encounter with one of the most beautiful girls in school, the third year student Morishima Haruka - or one of several other classmates - Junichi finds himself spending time with them and develops romantic interests towards them.

Main Characters

Junichi Tachibana (橘純一, Tachibana Junichi) Voiced by: Maeno Tomoaki
The lead male protagonist of the story. He has a hard time opening up to others due to a trauma two years ago when his date stood him up on Christmas Eve which left him heart broken.
Tsukasa Ayatsuji (絢辻 詞, Ayatsuji Tsukasa) Voiced by: Kaori Nazuka
The class representative, who is both a hard worker and a person who is willing to take on any task that no one else will. Although outwardly she appears kind and friendly, her real personality is manipulative and cunning.
Rihoko Sakurai (桜井 梨穂子, Sakurai Rihoko) Voiced by: Ryōko Shintani
She is Junichi's childhood friend who, despite having a big appetite, avidly reads the dieting books in their school library.
Kaoru Tanamachi (棚町 薫, Tanamachi Kaoru) Voiced by: Rina Satō
One of Junichi's childhood friends, and is often seen with Junichi's friend Masayoshi Umehara.
Sae Nakata (中多 紗江, Nakata Sae) Voiced by: Hiromi Konno
A friend of Miya's. In the first episode, Junichi helped her buy snacks at the canteen.
Ai Nanasaki (七咲 逢, Nanasaki Ai) Voiced by: Yukana
A classmate of Miya's. She is part of their school's girl swimming team.
Haruka Morishima (森島 はるか, Morishima Haruka) Voiced by: Shizuka Itō
A very popular girl in her final year, who has many fans at school. She can be described as a fickle and insecure girl with a liking for cute things, especially puppies. Her best friend is Hibiki Tsukahara.

Media

Anime

An anime adaptation was announced on April 24, 2010 entitled Amagami SS, it began airing subsequently on July 1, 2010. The story of the anime is arranged in an omnibus format, with each heroine getting her own version of the story animated beginning with Haruka Morishima. The heroines will sing their own version of the ending theme song.

Music

The opening theme of the anime is called i Love performed by Azusa, the ending theme is called Kimi no Hitomi ni Koishiteru (キミの瞳に恋してる), the song will be performed by the female lead characters in the story Shizuka Itou, Rina Satou, Hiromi Konno, Yukana and Ryoko Shintani. Both songs were released on July 19, 2010.
